本書為《中國佛教高僧全集》(全套100冊)之第10冊,全書以創新的小說體裁,具體呈現歷代高僧的道範佛心,現代、白話、忠於史實,引領讀者身歷其境去感受其至情至性的生命情境。 本書以白話小說體裁描寫天台宗創始人隋代智者大師一生行誼。 大師年幼時即顯現上善根機,及長,逢戰亂,18歲出家,研習法華經,兼修禪定,晚年長居於天台山,並創立中國佛教八宗之一的天台宗。隨代智者大師,幼年即顯現種種上善根機,十八歲出家,後從慧思禪師修學禪定、研習法華,奠定創立天台的基礎。 師建寺度僧、培育第子,並留下大量著作,備受陳隨兩代朝野敬重。 師深析經理、禪智雙修,融合當時中國南北佛教,善運時勢,創立了解行並重的天臺宗;並曾傳至日、韓,為具有世界性影響的重要宗派。王仲堯,原籍浙江省鄞縣,一九五三年七月生於杭州。 一九七八年考入杭州商學院,畢業後從事哲學教學和研究。 發表過哲學、管理學、文學等作品。 近年專注於佛教文化的研究。 著有《中國佛教十大奇僧》等書,及《竺道生思維特徵辨析》等論文。 現任杭州商學院學報副主編。
