El inspector de policía Anders Knutas investiga el caso junto a su colega, Karin Jacobsson. Pronto varios intentos de asesinato ponen en peligro a otros habitantes de la isla, y todos tienen algo en común: el deseo de vender la prestigiosa granja de Gotland.
