This novel is a bit more creepy than the others and centres on a mythical spectre, called Strawfoot, who superstitious locals once believed stalked the marshes of the Levels, punishing wayward children, and who suddenly re-emerges from the mists in modern times to commit a series of grisly murders. I got the idea for the plot one dismal evening as I was driving home through a village celebrating the annual scarecrow festival. Seeing all those weird scarecrow figures waving at me from front gardens really fired my imagination - my novel was the result!
