En las gélidas profundidades del glaciar Langjökull se descubre un cuerpo congelado que es aparentemente el de un empresario que lleva treinta años desaparecido. En su momento la investigación policial no arrojó resultados y si bien uno de los socios del desaparecido estuvo detenido brevemente, no se encontraron pruebas suficientes para acusarlo. Pero ahora todo ha cambiado y Konrád, el policía que investigó la desaparición quien se encuentra ya retirado, será convocado nuevamente para reabrir el caso. Para su fortuna, cuenta con una nueva información que le ha brindado una mujer desconocida que puede, por fin, ayudar a esclarecer un caso que llevaba tanto tiempo sin resolverse.
