La política seguida por Stalin, lejos de querer extendder la revolución mundial, tenía como propósito defender los intereses geopolíticos de la URSS, para lo que trato de evitar o frenar cualquier fenómeno revolucionario, ya fuese en China, en Yogoeslavia, Grecia, España, Francia, o Alemania. Stalin no solo sacrificó a sus compañeros sino que con sus políticas, el nazismo y posteriormente las potencias occidentales lograron conservar sus colonias y mantener los mismos gobiernos conservadores que antes de la guerra.
